# Method:

01 - Heat olive oil in a large heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
02 - Stir in minced garlic, jalapeño, and red bell pepper. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant.
03 - Add the diced sweet potatoes and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
04 - Sprinkle in ground cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, cinnamon, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly to coat the vegetables.
05 - Pour in diced tomatoes with their juices, black beans, and vegetable broth. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
06 - Lower heat to low, cover pot, and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sweet potatoes are tender and flavors meld.
07 - Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve warm garnished with cilantro, lime wedges, avocado slices, and sour cream or its vegan alternative if desired.
