Viral Garlic Butter Ramen (Print Version)

Instant noodles elevated with garlic butter, soy and brown sugar, topped with green onions and sesame.

# Components:

→ Noodles

01 - 2 packages instant ramen noodles (seasoning packets discarded)

→ Sauce & Seasonings

02 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 5 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
05 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
06 - 1 teaspoon sesame oil
07 - 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

→ Garnishes

08 - 2 green onions, thinly sliced
09 - 2 soft-boiled eggs (optional)
10 - 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
11 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# Method:

01 - Bring a medium pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the instant noodle blocks and cook according to the package directions until just tender. Drain thoroughly and set the noodles aside.
02 - While the noodles cook, heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
03 - Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar and sesame oil (and red pepper flakes if using). Cook, stirring, for about 1 minute until the mixture is glossy and the sugar has dissolved.
04 - Add the drained noodles to the skillet and toss vigorously with tongs or chopsticks to coat every strand in the garlic butter sauce. Cook together for an additional 1 minute to marry the flavors.
05 - Divide the coated noodles between bowls and finish with sliced green onions, soft‑boiled eggs if using, toasted sesame seeds and a grind of black pepper. Serve immediately.
